Melbourne’s south-east benefits from new ambulance branch

Ambulance Victoria’s (AV) new branch at Clyde North has officially opened its doors, boosting services in the busiest area of the state.

The 24-hour, state-of-the-art branch has been custom-built with the modern and safe facilities paramedics need to do their job and respond to life-threatening cases in the community.

The City of Casey is the busiest in the state for AV, accounting for about five per cent of all Code 1 callouts across Victoria.

Acting Area Manager Dan Candy said the opening of the branch is a great milestone for AV but also for the people of Casey and the surrounding suburbs.

“There is no doubt this area is growing, and we are thrilled to be growing with it,” he said.

“Our aim is to give our patients the best care, every time – and better access to ambulance services in this area means better health outcomes for our patients.”

The branch is home to 36 paramedics, supported by a team manager and senior team manager.

The prime location on Matterhorn Drive allows ease of access to main roads and major sites including schools, shopping precincts and community facilities.

It has a four-bay garage for ambulances, training facilities and secure parking for paramedics.
