The awards are held in categories including Female Player of the Year, Female Coach of the Year, Female Administrator of the Year, Female Referee of the Year and Male Champion of the Year.

And today we’re looking at the nominees from Football Victoria.

Female Player of the Year – Karen Costello

Karen may be 58 years old but that hasn’t stopped her playing the sport she loves. Karen shows a fierce determination and passion for the game, playing for the last two decades side by side with her senior women’s team, facing strikers often 40 years younger than her.

Female Coach of the Year – Anouk Meereboer

In her first full season coaching with Gippsland FC, Anouk took the under-13/14 girls in their inaugural season competing in the State League Division One. The girls, under Meereboer’s guidance, put in some wonderful performances to finish the season in a credible fourth position, only two points behind the league winners, Berwick. The team also travelled to Tasmania in the post season where they competed in the Launceston Tournament and were crowned champions in their division.
