Member views sought to inform NSW’s Innovation Blueprint

AusBiotech Members are invited to register for a virtual discussion forum to support its industry-led response to Investment NSW’s Innovation Blueprint.

Investment NSW, the state’s economic development and attraction agency, is seeking feedback on its proposed Innovation Blueprint aimed at attracting new investment, ideas, industries and talent.

To support the NSW Government’s understanding of the innovation ecosystem’s priorities, challenges and opportunities, AusBiotech’s AusBioNSW initiative intends to submit a response reflecting the capabilities present and priorities of the NSW life sciences sector.

To support this response, AusBiotech invites members to register for its virtual discussion forum on Tuesday, 19 March at 2pm (AEDT) to discuss the priorities for the sector and issues, opportunities, and challenges and the sector faces.

The Innovation Blueprint was first announced in September 2023 by the (then) Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, NSW Government, to guide how it supports the NSW innovation and technology ecosystem. A discussion paper was released in February, outlining specific areas for feedback and a set of criteria for respondents.

As the voice of industry, AusBiotech works with Government to ensure industry’s rightful place as a key and growing economic and social driver, ensuring the Australian life sciences industry is structurally supported to capitalise on new technologies and growth opportunities. In line with its AusBioNSW strategic plan, this response will advocate for the NSW life sciences sector, increase awareness of NSW biotechnology strengths and offerings locally, and supports the driving of initiatives to attract investment and grow innovation and trade in NSW.

AusBiotech Members are warmly invited to register for this forum by contacting Robyn Lindner, General Manager, AusBioNSW. If Members are unavailable to attend but would still like to participate, written feedback is welcome; please reach out to Robyn for a copy of the questions.
