Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a 20-year-old man in relation to an armed robbery incident in Merriwa on Tuesday 28 September 2021.
About 2:50pm a man entered a liquor store at a shopping centre on Baltimore Parade and requested alcohol and tobacco products. The requested items were placed on the counter at which time it will be alleged the man produced a knife and took the products without paying for them.
Last night, Wednesday 29 September 2021, detectives from the Regional Investigations Unit, with assistance from officers from the Regional Operations Group, attended a residence in Daintree Court, Merriwa where they arrested a 20-year-old man.
Several items of interest to the investigation were seized.
A 20-year-old man from Merriwa has been charged with ‘Armed Robbery’. He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court today, Thursday 30 September 2021.
