A missing woman from the Tuggerah Lakes area has been located safe and well.
The 48-year-old had been camping by herself for the past month in the Olney State Forest, west of Morriset.
Police were told that on Saturday 20 January 2024, she drove her vehicle from her campsite to get water, but her vehicle became bogged.
About 6.30am yesterday (Monday 23 January 2024), she told a family member she was going walking in the forest to collect water. When the family member went to drop off food to her campsite around midday, she was not there.
Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District were notified and immediately commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.
Following inquiries and a geo targeted text message, she was located safe and well at a makeshift campsite in the Olney State Forest about 4.45pm today (Tuesday 23 January 2024).
Police would like to thank the public and media for their assistance.
