Mitchell Shire Council is inviting the community to help shape the future of the shire.
In 2021, we joined forces with our community and dreamed up a vision for Mitchell in 2050 that reflected our collective hopes and aspirations for the future.
The Mitchell Community Vision is that by 2050: Weare a healthy, vibrant and connected community that values nature, diversity and innovation.
Our wish for the future is that: Mitchell will become a place that people of all ages love to call home. Where we celebrate our natural beauty and where businesses prosper.
Six themes were identified by community:
- Vibrant communities
- Working, learning, tourism
- Travelling and getting around
- Shaping neighbourhoods
- Nature and parks
- Climate action
As we move forward, it’s time to check in with our community again through the Mitchell 2050: Refreshing the Vision consultation.
This is your opportunity to ensure our shared vision still aligns with the evolving needs and dreams of our community as we continue our journey of growth and change and support the development of our next health and wellbeing plan and council plan.
