Moama and Barham named finalists in Top Tourism Town Awards

Murray River Council

Moama and Barham have been named finalists in the inaugural Top Tourism Town Awards for NSW.

And there’s only one week to vote for your favourite!

An initiative of the NSW Tourism Industry Council and Business NSW, the awards recognise regional tourism towns across NSW that deliver amazing visitor experiences and are committed to growing visitation to their destination.

With only one week to vote, locals are encouraged to jump online and have their say.

Voting is restricted to one town per category, with Barham in the population under 5,000 category and Moama in the population over 5,000.

Voting closes this Friday May 14 at 5pm, with one top town winner from each category announced on May 27.

Mayor Chris Bilkey said the awards are an exciting platform to showcase local attractions and unique visitor experiences.

“The awards are about highlighting our towns’ amazing visitor experiences and showcasing the collaborative efforts of tourism operators, businesses, and the local community to drive the visitor economy.”

“With many businesses still recovering after restrictions and border closures, we couldn’t think of a better way to boost business in Moama and Barham than celebrating our tourism credentials.”

“It’s a credit to our local operators in both towns that we have been named finalists, so I would encourage locals to throw their support behind them and jump online today and vote while there is still time!”
