The health, safety and wellbeing of Tasmanians is the Government’s number one priority as we continue through the recovery phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A mobile testing clinic will be open in Riverside this weekend to assist people needing a test for coronavirus.
The mobile clinic will be open from 10am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday, and will be located in the Riverside High School car park.
The clinic will operate as a drive-through clinic, and people being tested will not need to leave their vehicle.
There is no requirement to book to have a test at this clinic. People needing a test can simply turn up.
People are encouraged to get tested if they have, or have had in the past week, any of the following symptoms:
- Fever (including chills or night sweats)
- Runny nose
- Cough
- Sore/itchy throat
- Shortness of breath
- Loss of taste or smell
Mobile clinics will visit other areas of the State in coming weeks.
Continuing a high testing rate is critical to ensure we are doing everything we can to keep our community safe.
Tasmanians have done an outstanding job to adjust to the new COVID environment, and while it may be challenging, we must retain high levels of vigilance.
I encourage everyone to make sure they are regularly washing hands, practising social distancing and staying home if they’re unwell.
We have now delivered more than 119,000 coronavirus tests in our State and Tasmanians are to be congratulated.
