Monaro Panthers named Club Changer, Club of Month

Football Australia and Capital Football acknowledge Monaro Panthers Football Club as the Club Changer, Club of the Month for being dedicated in the progression to offer a welcoming environment for women & girls’ football, through club culture and infrastructure.

Monaro Panthers Football Club was established in 1967 and have committed to aiding their players on and off the pitch, fostering an amazing culture within the club, in particular their Women and Girls program.

“Monaro Panthers is a great club looking to always improve upon their offerings, and always seeking ways to improve.” Dylan Deep-Jones – Capital Football, Club Development Manager.

To attain their Club Changer 1 Star accreditation, Monaro Panthers created an action plan with a key focus on increasing infrastructure, specifically for the women and girls’ program, as well as participation programs and leadership offerings for females throughout the club. Monaro Panthers have successfully updated the clubs’ facilities for women and girls, creating four female changerooms that make members feel comfortable, welcome and valued.

“…It is a great step forward in the direction of getting the girls and the clubs recognising everything about football and female participation.”- Alex Tine, Monaro Panthers Football Club Treasurer said.

Treasurer, Alex Tine, highlights the importance of having female representation and recognition in sport, and notes that having amenities that are welcoming and inviting are key to having a “wonderful” facility for women and female participation.
