The McGowan Government has today opened Round 2 of the X-TEND WA program, which provides grants of up to $100,000 to organisations that help innovative Western Australian businesses become investor ready and expand their operations.
The program is part of Government’s $16.7 million New Industries Fund, established to help diversify the WA economy and create local jobs. X-TEND WA grants are open to training and education providers that can develop and implement programs that support WA start-ups, emerging businesses and small-to-medium sized enterprises.
Grants also support programs that educate investors about the potential of investing in early‑stage innovation, so they become ‘innovator ready’.
Applications are encouraged from organisations that are able to provide training programs to a range of businesses, as well as start-up owners of diverse backgrounds, to foster diversity and inclusion in the State’s business sector.
The six organisations successful through the Round 1 grants process have commenced work to promote their programs to WA entrepreneurs and will be running training through to June 2020.
