Motorcyclist dies after crash, NSW

A man has died following a motorcycle crash in Sydney’s west over the weekend.

Just before 6.00pm (Saturday 5 June 2021), emergency services were called to the Cumberland Highway, Canley Heights, near Canley Vale Road, after reports a motorcyclist riding a black Harley Davidson had collided with the rear of a green Honda Odyssey sedan.

The rider, a 29-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was treated at the scene by Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 65-year-old man, was not injured and was later taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

About 1.30pm on Thursday 10 June 2021, the rider of the motorcycle died in hospital.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Inquiries into the crash are continuing.
