Motorised esky rider put on ice at Lake Eildon

State Highway Patrol’s Solo Unit officers have nabbed two people for separate traffic offences in Lake Eildon as part of Operation Scoreboard.

Officers intercepted a man riding a motorised esky on a dirt track off Walshs Road on Friday.

The 20-year-old from Diamond Creek was issued an infringement notice for using an unregistered vehicle at a cost of $925.

Later that day, police intercepted a Mitsubishi Triton 4WD on Walshs Road and spoke to the driver, a 21-year-old Hoppers Crossing man.

The driver was spoken to in relation to driving as an unaccompanied learner driver and failing to display L plates.

The vehicle was defected for oversized tyres, excessive suspension life and illegal lighting fitted to the vehicles roof.

It was impounded with towing costs of $1865 and the driver is expected to be charged on summons.

The impounds relate to Operation Scoreboard will run state-wide from 12:01am Wednesday 21 September to 11:59pm Sunday 25 September.
