Mount Eliza tennis courts due for grand upgrade

Mornington Peninsula Shire is about to begin important reconstruction works on the Mount Eliza tennis courts at 55 Wimbledon Avenue.

The popular courts are in poor condition and we will bring them up to current standards.

Works will include the construction of four new tennis courts, tree removal, drainage, earth works, pavement works, new kerb, concrete works, line marking and fencing.

The $900,000 project is funded by the Mornington Peninsula Shire, Victorian State Government and the Mount Eliza Tennis Club.

We’ll begin construction in December and expect to complete works by April 2022.

Quote attributable to Briars Ward Councillors Mayor Despi O’Connor, Anthony Marsh and Steve Holland:

“An audit undertaken in 2019 of all the Shire’s tennis courts identified the need to redevelop the Mount Eliza tennis court.

“The new courts will be a joy to play at and bring a pep in the steps of many local tennis enthusiasts!”
