Mrs Josephine Linden has been appointed an Honorary Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) for her significant service to the Australia-United States bilateral relationship, the international finance sector, and the professional development of Australians.

For 40 years, Mrs Linden has lived in New York and carved out an impressive career in one of the world’s leading financial centres, while navigating a traditionally male-dominated industry.

The former New South Wales resident has devoted herself to non-profit causes, including as a financial adviser to the Prince of Wales Foundation and as a founding Member of the Advance Global Advisory Council.

Over the last 25 years Mrs Linden has worked closely with Australian Consul-Generals in New York, Australian Ambassadors to the United Nations, and Austrade representatives.

Mrs Linden is the Advance Ambassador for the USA. Advance is a professional network of global Australians, supporting international career paths, and leveraging skills and knowledge acquired overseas for Australia’s benefit.

The former Kambala Girls School student established the Linden Fellowship which provides a three month professional program in New York for students from her former school in Rose Bay. The program has forged a network for female professionals both in the USA and Australia.

Mrs Linden is part of the Australian Consulate’s Investment Advisory Group. Mrs Linden facilitates and presents at visits by senior Australian Government representatives, the American Australian Association, the Consulate Speaker Series and Australia Day addresses.
