A multi-agency operation involving the NSW Police Force, Australian Federal Police and Australian Border Force is currently underway in Sydney.
This matter relates to an organised crime drug investigation.
In the early hours this morning (Saturday 18 April 2020), a yacht was interdicted by the NSWPF Marine Area Command in waters off the coast, south of Lake Macquarie. The boat is suspected to be carrying a commercial shipment of border-controlled drugs.
Two men have been arrested and are currently in police custody.
The boat is subject to ongoing investigative and forensics procedures, where the drugs will be unloaded, and the full volume of the importation will be known.
