National Country Swimming Champs making a splash

Swimmers from across Australia will soon converge on the Territory, with Darwin to host the Australian Wide Country Championships from Saturday, 1 October to Sunday, 4 October 2022.

The event will be held in conjunction with the Junior State Age Challenge, and will see some of the best swimmers from regional Australia compete at the Parap Swimming Pool.

Large numbers of competitors and supporters are expected to travel to the Top End for the events, giving a welcome boost to the region during the Territory’s shoulder period.

The Championships will include two sessions per day, with competition racing commencing at 9am and 5pm. Warm ups will begin at approximately 8am and 4pm daily.

The Australian Wide Country Championships are supported by the Northern Territory Government through Northern Territory Major Events Company.
