National Multicultural Festival grants now open for 25th anniversary celebrations

Grant applications are now open for community organisations to participate in the much anticipated National Multicultural Festival 25th anniversary celebration.

The grants program provides funding to community organisations to participate, celebrate, and showcase their respective cultural traditions and heritage, through language, music, dance, cultural displays and food.

The 2023 festival will also receive an additional $1 million funding boost to support the expanded festival footprint to Glebe Park and 25th anniversary celebrations.

Minister for Multicultural Affairs Tara Cheyne said “The ACT Government is proud to support community participation at the 2023 National Multicultural Festival with $180,000 in grant funding. We’re particularly interested in receiving applications from new and emerging communities who may not have participated in the festival before.”

“In an exciting addition, this year’s grant program is being expanded to include cultural workshops. Applicants who are interested in this category are encouraged to apply for a 1-hour workshop time where they can share an activity or skill from their culture with Festival attendees. This is a great opportunity for Festival goers to learn more about the many cultures represented in our great city.”
