A dance and music spectacular that everyone can join in with, comes to Elizabeth Quay on Sunday (March 3).
The Navratri Dance Festival, which originated in the Indian state of Gujarat, is dedicated to the celebration and empowerment of women, and is being presented by the Gujarati Samaj of Western Australia.
The vibrant and colourful family festival brings people together with rhythmic and energetic dance moves that can be enjoyed by everyone.
This year’s event will include children’s games, food vans, live music, a marketplace and, most importantly, free dance lessons.
The McGowan Government is supporting this festival with $5,000 from the Office of Multicultural Interests, $5,000 from Healthway, and $4,500 from Lotterywest.
