NeurotechEU-Decide: Joint Autumn School on Decision-Making

How do we make decisions – and why do we sometimes fail?

This one-week, in-person programme brings together students and researchers from across the NeurotechEU alliance to explore how decisions are shaped – from cognitive models and neural mechanisms to clinical conditions and ethical challenges.

What to expect?

Throughout the week, participants will engage with leading researchers and explore key questions such as:

  • How can decisions be modelled and formally described?
  • How do neural systems shape choice behaviour?
  • How is decision-making altered in clinical conditions?
  • What ethical challenges arise in decision-making?

The programme combines state-of-the-art research insights with interactive elements, providing space for discussion, exchange, and interdisciplinary learning.

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from:

  • Master’s students
  • PhD students
  • Postdoctoral researchers

Applicants should be affiliated with Karolinska Institutet (i.e., they need to be enrolled at or employed by a NeurotechEU university). Additionally, applicants should have a background in fields such as psychology, neuroscience, computer science, economics, medicine, biomedical engineering, or related disciplines.
