New $9m Police Facility to be built in Nambour

The design work is done and early on-site works will begin within months to provide Nambour police with a brand new state-of-the-art policing facility.

The new police facility will be located on the existing police reserve in Currie Street, Nambour.

The new facility will provide accommodation for general duty officers, criminal investigation officers, the forensic crash unit, and Road Policing officers.

Police Minister Mark Ryan said this was yet another example of the Palaszczuk Government delivering for the community.

“We promised a new police facility for Nambour at the election and that is what we are delivering.

“The design work is done and early works on the site will begin within months.

“The original police station will be demolished to make way for a modern state-of-the-art facility that will serve Nambour police well into the future.

“The $9m budget will ensure police have the best facilities to support community safety in Nambour and the surrounding region.

“The Queensland Police Service is truly world class and our hard-working officers deserve the best.

“And that is exactly what the Palaszczuk Government is delivering.

“This year’s record police budget continues our investment in policing.

“There are more police in Queensland than ever before, they are better trained than ever before, and they are better equipped than ever before.

“As Police Minister I will continue to support the Queensland Police Service with the investments police need to keep the community safe.”
