  • Internationally respected health promotion expert Donna Cross reappointed
  • Healthway to play pivotal role in Cook Government’s preventative health agenda

The Western Australian Government has appointed marketing, leadership, and business development professional Gavin Bain to its Board for a three-year term.

As chief executive officer of Verian Group’s Asia-Pacific division and former Board member of Cancer Council WA, Mr Bain brings decades of experience in purpose-driven leadership and communications to support Healthway’s work in promoting health and wellbeing throughout the community.

Mr Bain’s appointment follows the conclusion of long-term Healthway Board member Steve Harris’ tenure.

Highly respected health promotion researcher and academic Professor Donna Cross OAM has also been reappointed to the Healthway Board for a further three years.

Professor Cross’ decades-long leadership in health promotion will continue to contribute to strong, evidence-based health outcomes in Western Australia.

Healthway is the State Government’s only agency solely dedicated to health promotion and preventative health.

The Healthway Board consists of those who have knowledge of and experience in the arts, health, sport, finance, governance, law, management, or marketing.

The appointments of Mr Bain and Professor Cross come at a pivotal time for Healthway, with the introduction of the first Cabinet Portfolio for Preventative Health and a renewed focus from the Cook Labor Government on preventative health efforts.
