New appointments to MAAS Trust

Minister for the Arts Don Harwin announced The Hon. Peter Collins AM QC, Langley Walker AO, and Mark Hassell as new appointments to the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Trust.

The Hon. Peter Collins AM QC and Langley Walker AO will commence their terms from 11 December 2020, and Mark Hassell’s appointment is effective immediately.

The Hon. Peter Collins AM QC will join as both Trustee and President.

“As we embark on this exciting period of transformation which will deliver a more diverse and accessible arts and cultural environment for many generations to come, I am delighted to welcome the latest appointments to the Board,” said Mr Harwin.

“I thank Professor Barney Glover AO for his stewardship during his tenure; it was a privilege to work together on the development of this once-in-a-generation renewal program for the museum, and he leaves behind a great legacy that will contribute to extraordinary outcomes for the people of NSW.”

“The Hon. Peter Collins AM QC, Mr Langley Walker AO, and Mr Mark Hassell bring significant experience and strategic expertise to the Board, and we are extremely fortunate to have these recognised business leaders on board to guide the museum.

“I look forward to their guidance as we work together to deliver on an important expansion and transformation of the museum for the people of NSW,” said Mr Harwin.

The Hon. Peter Collins AM QC and Langley Walker AO will serve until 31 December 2023, with Mark Hassell appointed until 31 December 2021.
