Cancer Council WA’s LiveLighter® program has launched a new digital campaign, Start Small, to encourage and motivate WA adults to save money on living expenses whilst maintaining a healthy diet and keeping physically active.

People are encouraged to register their small, health promoting and money-saving goals via the Small Wheel of Small Things to get tools and resources that support their goal, and a chance to win a prize.

Cancer Council WA Food and Movement Programs Manager, Ainslie Sartori, said the campaign was an expansion of the previous Boost Your Budget campaign and includes low cost and free ways to be active and build healthy habits.

“We know from our previous research* that the rising costs of living continues to have an effect on peoples spending habits,” Ms Satori said.

This campaign offers tips on how to eat well on a budget and ways to motivate people to make healthy snacks and meals instead, but also includes resources for low cost and free ways to be active, the importance of socialising, and how to build healthy habits by starting small.

“We encourage all West Aussies to jump online at LiveLighter.com.au to find out easy and affordable ways to start living their best, healthiest life.” LiveLighter® is encouraging the WA community to get in on the fun by giving the digital wheel a spin on air, and opting to set a goal for themselves which can be followed up on over the course of the campaign.

Start Small will run until 21 September 2024 on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and online.
