New CEO to drive opportunities in Gascoyne

  • Timothy Bray appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Gascoyne Development Commission
  • Follows extensive recruitment process by Public Sector Commissioner

Regional Development Minister Don Punch has today announced the appointment of Timothy Bray as Chief Executive Officer of the Gascoyne Development Commission.

Mr Bray served as Director Strategy and Economics, and Deputy CEO, at the Kimberley Development Commission since 2016, leading a team driving economic growth across the region.

He brings with him extensive senior leadership in regional development, having first started at the Kimberley Development Commission in 2009. Tim has undertaken lead roles in projects as diverse as innovative housing for Aboriginal people, transformational education programs and urban renewal. Tim led the Commission as A/CEO during the critical State Government response to the COVID 19 pandemic.

An extensive recruitment process was conducted by the Public Sector Commissioner for the role, following which the Public Sector Commissioner recommended the appointment of Mr Bray.

Regional Development Commissions are key to the McGowan Government’s job creating agenda on the ground in regional Western Australia, working to grow and diversify the State’s regional economies.

As stated by Regional Development Minister Don Punch:

“The Gascoyne is full of potential, and with Tim Bray in the role of CEO, I am confident that opportunities will be seized upon.

“Our regional development commissions play such a crucial role in connecting business with Government, and the Gascoyne Development Commission will continue to make those valuable connections with Mr Bray as CEO.

“Tim has a long history in regional development, and his appointment to CEO in the Gascoyne is well earned and deserved.

“I would like to say special thanks to Tym Duncanson who made significant inroads across the region since his appointment as CEO of the Gascoyne Development Commission in March 2019, and to Simmone Van Beurle for her work as acting CEO since February.”
