New Community Grant Helps Keep Dubbo Region Sparkling

Dubbo Regional Council has launched its new Community Clean-Up Fund, allowing community organisations to access Council’s waste facilities free of charge when undertaking approved litter clean-up activities across the region.

Eligible groups, who have their grant application approved, will complete their clean-up activity then have the waste disposal fee waived at entry to their local DRC waste facility.

The Community Clean-Up Fund aims to support volunteer and community-led clean-up activities across the Dubbo Region, encourage responsible disposal of waste collected during clean-ups, and improve local amenity.

Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Josh Black encouraged all eligible groups to apply for the grant and get involved in helping keep the region clean.

“We’ve got some great community groups here that are passionate about helping keep our region looking fantastic.

“I’d encourage these groups to apply for the Community Clean-Up Fund to assist them in their activities,” Clr Black said.

Eligible activities include general litter collected from public spaces, including parks or waterways, waste collected during organised illegal dumping clean-ups, and debris of vegetation collected as part of environmental clean-ups.

The funding stream is open for applications all year, and is eligible for community-based organisations, registered charities, incorporated groups, and not-for-profits to apply for.
