Following Friday’s declaration by the Northern Territory Electoral Commission (NTEC), and after a competitive voting process, City of Darwin welcomes Mr Sam Weston as a newly elected Councillor for the Lyons Ward.
Mr Sam Weston joins Councillors Amye Un and Mick Palmer as an elected representative for the Ward, which comprises the suburbs of Bayview, Darwin City, The Gardens, The Narrows, Larrakeyah, Parap, Stuart Park and Woolner.
Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis congratulated Mr Weston on his election and said he looked forward to working with him.
“It is always good to have some fresh ideas and perspectives on Council so we can continue to look after our community, and I look forward to having Mr Weston in the Council,” Mr Vatskalis said.
“Pleasingly, there were 12 candidates who put themselves forward for this position and it’s great so many put their hand up to support their community.”
Mr Weston was declared the newly elected Councillor at 10am at the Civic Centre today (Monday, 18 September 2023).
