The Tasmanian Government is a strong supporter of our cultural and creative sector, and our ongoing investment in the industry will ensure it can continue to grow.
The latest round of Screen Tasmania funding will invest $141,500, with nine projects funded through the Project Development program and one through Video Game Development.
Outside of the special fund delivered as a COVID-19 stimulus measure in 2020, this is the largest number of projects funded in a single round, which is testament to the talent and resilience of our screen creatives.
I am pleased to announce that specific projects include:
- Maker’s Treehouse, a short-form educational series from Bitlink;
- Bonesweeper, a puzzle/collector video game for PCs from Josh ‘Cheeseness’ Bush in which players dig up fossils and assemble them into skeletons to place in a museum;
- comedy series Emotional Whiplash from Polyphonic Media; and
- the latest project from master screenwriter Vicki Madden, the feature film Finnegan’s Field:
