New Home for Local Rugby League Open to Community

Territorians will get their first look at thenewly completed $25.3 million Territory Rugby League Stadium at Marrara onSunday 19 May.

This brand new home for local rugby league hasthree fields, a 1200-seat grandstand, four change rooms, corporate facilities,food and beverage facilities, onsite storage for clubs and car parking for over500 cars, the facility will help to grow rugby league in the Territory,including encouraging more women and girls to play.

NRLNT will also be based at the stadium complex,allowing the code and local competition to be run from within its main stadium.

This fast-tracked project was awarded to localcompany Halikos Group, creating around 120 jobs for locals and stimulating thelocal economy.

Next month, the combined affiliated states MensCarnival will see our NT Titans play in front of their home town supporters.

Free opening celebrations will be held at thestadium Sunday 19 May from 10 am to 12 pm.

There will be plenty of fun activities, a BBQand clinics for all the family – Everyone is welcome.

As stated by Minister for Tourism, Sport andCulture, Lauren Moss:

Territory Rugby League Stadium is a fantasticnew home for local rugby league and marks another election promise delivered.

The new facility will help to grow rugby leaguein the Territory, get more women and girls involved in the game and give localplayers the facilities they deserve.

We have done what the previous CLP governmentfailed to do by giving local rugby league a much needed new home.

I encourage everyone to come along to the openday Sunday and have a look at the new Territory Rugby League Stadium whichfurther cements Marrara as the Top Ends premier sporting hub.

The NRL NT are excited to see the finalisationof the Northern Territory Governments $25 million investment into facilitiesfor the sport of Rugby League, I encourage all members of the NorthernTerritory Rugby League community to come together to celebrate the opening onSunday 19th May for the new home for Rugby League in the NT.

It is a fantastic opportunity for our NorthernTerritory Titans representative teams who will be the first players onto thenew fields when they commence training this Sunday at the new facility.
