New life for Mill Park

The City of Canada Bay has revealed plans to revitalise Mill Park in Rhodes.

“I am excited to share that we will be upgrading the well-used recreation space at Mill Park,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

“We are committed to improving local infrastructure across the City and providing high-quality recreation opportunities for our residents.

“Our aim for Mill Park is to create an intergenerational health and fitness space where all members of the community are welcome.”

The space will include a multicourt where games such as basketball, futsal, badminton and handball can be played. The court will also be perfect for group fitness classes and family activities.

The City of Canada Bay is also exploring opportunities to include tables for boardgames and chess, alongside some open lawn space.

The works at Mill Park provide an opportunity to get creative. Council is calling on artists and residents to provide ideas to develop vibrant public art that visitors can enjoy alongside the picturesque water views.

“We want to design this space in collaboration with the community to ensure it meets the needs of residents,” Mayor Tsirekas said.
