New Minister’s Carer Advisory Council

Nic Street, Minister Community Services and Development

Expressions of interest have opened for membership of the newly established Minister’s Carer Advisory Council.

The Government is seeking up to five carers with lived experience to join the Council to provide advice, information and insights about issues affecting Tasmanian carers.

The Council’s work will assist in the development and delivery of informed, effective and evidenced-based policy, programs and projects to support and recognise unpaid carers.

I am looking forward to chairing the Council, as it will play a key role in monitoring the implementation of the Tasmanian Carer Action Plan and annual Tasmanian Government Agency reporting requirements under the new Carer Recognition Act 2022.

Carers with a range of backgrounds, skills and experience are encouraged to apply and a diverse membership will be important to the Council functioning effectively.

To ensure broad representation across the State, people from regional areas of Tasmania are particularly encouraged to apply.
