New restrictions at Snowy Monaro Waste Transfer Stations

As of today access to regional Waste Transfer Stations will be limited to household domestic waste ONLY for residents without kerbside collection or access to a bank of bins, to help protect our region’s waste services against COVID-19 exposure.

These temporary new restrictions are a necessary precaution to protect our community and employees to ensure there is no interruption to waste services across the Snowy Monaro.

For residents with no access to a bank of bins or bin enclosure, and no access to a kerbside waste collection service, household domestic waste – waste that will rot, create odour and attract vermin or items that cannot be stored for long periods of time – can be dropped off at Waste Transfer Stations as normal.

For all recyclables, green waste and scrap metal please head to either the Bombala, Cooma or Jindabyne Landfills for disposal services.

Anyone with a kerbside collection service, or access to a bank of bins or bin enclosure, can no longer drop off waste at Waste Transfer Stations until further notice. Services are now limited. These residents are still welcome to visit our Bombala, Cooma, or Jindabyne Landfills.

Council would like to thank the community for their understanding and patience. COVID-19 safety measures may seem inconvenient for all of us, but protecting our community and the delivery of essential services is the priority for Council.

We will notify the community as soon as these restrictions can be relaxed.
