New Round of Wine Export Grants Open on 17 August 2020

$1 million dollars has been allocated to the Wine Export Grants program for a new round of grants as part of the Australian Government’s $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package (the $50m Package), to assist wine producers in maintaining their marketing efforts during the current travel restrictions.

The program is designed to help small and medium producers to secure new distribution channels in any international market.

Eligible producers in Australia can apply for a reimbursement grant of up to AU$25,000 for 50 per cent of specific export promotion activities undertaken.

Eligible claims include the reimbursement of:

  • specific travel expenses for a single promotional visit (daily allowance, limits apply)
  • the cost of providing free samples of wine, including freight or transport
  • participation in trade fairs (including online and virtual promotions)
  • in-store promotions
  • marketing and advertising collateral specific to your international audience.

To check the eligibility of claimable expenses, please view the guidelines and application details on the Wine Australia website.

Costs must be incurred on or after 1 July 2020 and applications will be assessed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The grant is open to producers who received funding in Round 1 of the Wine Export Grants. Each eligible wine producer may only receive the grant once within the current round of the program.

The grants are open for applications from 17 August 2020 and will close on expiration of funds or 1 May 2021, whichever comes first. Applications are assessed on a first-come, first-served basis. A tally of funding committed under the program will be published on the Wine Australia website.
