Newbridge Road is closed in both directions due to flooding between Governor Macquarie Drive at Chipping Norton, and Henry Lawson Drive at Milperra.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Motorists who need to travel can consider using the M5 or the Hume Highway instead, but are advised to take extreme care due to the severe weather conditions.
Route M90 buses are diverting via The River Road, the M5 and Heathcote Road, missing 36 bus stops.
Other roads are affected by flooding as well. Motorists are reminded never to drive through floodwaters.
