Newcomb Hall upgrades

Construction is currently underway at Newcomb Hall, which will receive numerous upgrades in the coming months.

These upgrades will be the second in the building’s history, and first major toilet renovation since the hall was built in 1983.

This renovation will ensure that Newcomb Hall can continue to meet the needs of the community as mentioned in the City’s Social Infrastructure Plan.

Frequently used by occasional hirers, the hall is also home to one of the City’s Community Care teams as well as a Family Service’s supported playgroup.

The $170,000 project is fully funded by the City and will aim to create a space with amenities to suit all visitors.

Works are currently underway, and will include

  • New accessible unisex toilet;
  • New male and female toiles including ambulant toilets;
  • New cleaner’s room; and
  • Relocation of the Community Care office.

Although currently closed, once reopened, Newcomb Hall will be available year-round for private events.
