As at 8pm Thursday 11 June 2020, there have been three new cases of COVID-19 diagnosed since 8pm 10 June. The total number of cases in NSW has been reduced to 3,115 after several cases were excluded.
NSW has recorded the highest ever number of tests in a 24-hour reporting period with 15,220 tests carried out, compared with 9,746 in the previous 24 hours. More than 606,000 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in NSW.
NSW Health would like to thank those with symptoms for coming forward, getting tested and ensuring cases in the community are identified as quickly as possible.
The virus may still be circulating in the community. People with mild symptoms or those who show no obvious symptoms can unknowingly pass it to others.
NSW Health is urging anyone feeling unwell – even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat – to isolate from others and get tested. This is important for everyone in the community and especially for anyone who attended any rallies in recent days.
With the easing of restrictions, it remains essential that everyone maintains social distancing of 1.5m and regularly washes their hands to minimise the risk of virus transmission.

There are currently 68 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health, and none are in intensive care.
In NSW, 2,743 people have recovered from COVID-19.
Two cases reported today are travellers in hotel quarantine. Additionally, one previous case has been added to the total. This person was a passenger on an overseas cruise ship, the Greg Mortimer, who acquired the illness overseas, flew back to Victoria and was isolated at the time. This patient has been classified as a case in NSW, but is now recovered.
A potential third case, which remains under investigation, is a person who works at Rose Bay Public School before and after care. The school will be closed while investigations are underway.
As diagnosis of COVID-19 becomes rarer in this state, NSW Health has established a panel of experts to routinely review test results for those cases previously assigned as positive but with no known source of infection.
Five patients previously diagnosed with COVID-19 have been assessed by the expert panel to have not had the infection, based on further analysis of their test results. Local public health units have contacted all patients.
These patients had no identified source of infection and mild, to no symptoms.
As NSW Health continues to review test results, it is likely the number of previously identified positive cases will continue to adjust. As a consequence, the total of cases in NSW has been reduced by two.
