The NSW Nationals have preselected Brendan Moylan as their candidate to contest the Northern Tablelands by-election, following the announcement by Adam Marshall MP that he is resigning from the NSW Parliament.

Mr Moylan is a solicitor with a long record of community service. He has lived in the regions all his life. Together with his wife Catherine, they are raising their three children in Moree.

Mr Moylan said he was honoured to have been preselected and is looking forward to continuing Adam Marshall’s legacy as a hard working local member

Mr Marshall said Mr Moylan will be an outstanding candidate. “Brendan knows this region, its people, the issues, and the opportunities. I look forward to joining him on the campaign trail.”

NSW Nationals Leader Dugald Saunders was at the preselection and congratulated Mr Moylan. “Brendan will be a great fit to represent the people of the Northern Tablelands” Mr Saunders said.

“Having lived in the regions his whole life, combined with his strong involvement in the community, Brendan understands what his community needs and will always fight for their fair share.”

NSW Nationals Chairman Andrew Fraser said with six candidates contesting the preselection, and over 200 members in attendance, the preselection shows the NSW Nationals are in good shape. “We are the only party that stands up for rural and regional NSW, and I look forward to seeing Brendan continue that fight,” Mr Fraser said.

The date for the Northern Tablelands by-election is yet to be announced.
