The community is invited to view and provide feedback on the next stage of the $630 million Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment, with planning documents for the new Clinical Services Building now on public exhibition.
The Minns Government has committed $550 million to deliver the redevelopment, with a further $80 million contribution from the Commonwealth Government to expand the hospital’s Emergency Department.
A refined artist’s impression shows the proposed Clinical Services Building, featuring a nature-inspired façade, complementing the existing Fairfield Hospital building and surrounding bushland.
The new five-storey building will seamlessly connect with the existing hospital through a welcoming new main entry and convenient drop-off area.
Subject to planning approval, the Clinical Services Building is proposed to include:
- A new and expanded Emergency Department
- Intensive Care Unit
- Medical Imaging
- Operating theatres
- Inpatient wards.
Community members are encouraged to visit drop-in information sessions to learn more about the project, meet the project team and provide feedback.

Feedback on the planning documents can be provided via the online submission form until 11:59pm on Friday, 23 October 2026. All submissions received during the exhibition period will be considered before a decision is made on the proposal.
Construction of the hospital’s new multi-storey car park is currently underway, which will provide more than 450 spaces and include pedestrian connections to the existing hospital as well as the adjacent Braeside Hospital.
Construction of the new car park and associated works will continue throughout 2026 and is expected to be completed in late 2027.

The Minns Labor Government is investing $11.9 billion over four years, delivering 32 new or upgraded hospitals, including:
- $2 billion for the new Bankstown Hospital;
- $910 million for the new Rouse Hill Hospital, including a $120 million contribution from the Commonwealth Government;

- $400 million for the Canterbury Hospital Redevelopment; and
- $120 million for additional beds at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals.
