NSW police appeal after armed robberies at Orange

Police are appealing for information from the community in relation to two armed robberies in the state’s Central West earlier this year.

About 8.40am on Wednesday 22 January 2020, a man armed with a knife entered a shop on Dalton Street, Orange, and threatened staff, demanding cash and cigarettes.

The man fled the location north on McLachlan Street, and no one was injured.

In the second incident, a man armed with a knife entered a shop on Gardiner Road, Orange, about 1.50pm on Monday 27 January 2020, where he threatened the attendant, and demanded cash and cigarettes.

The man entered the back of the counter and took cigarettes before fleeing the location. There were no reports of injuries.

Detectives from Central West Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incidents, which they believe are linked.

As part of their investigation, detectives have released CCTV of a man who they believe can assist with their ongoing inquiries.

The man is depicted as being 160cm tall, with a thin build, wearing a black hooded jumper and pants with black sneakers with white markings.

Investigators are also urging any motorists who may have been in the area at the time of either incident and have dashcam vision to come forward.
