NSW police appeal after sexual touching on train

Police are appealing for public assistance following an alleged sexual touching on a Sydney train last year.

About 7pm on Wednesday 9 January 2019, a 30-year-old woman boarded a train at St Leonards Railway Station and was inappropriately touched three times by a man sitting next to her.

The woman moved to a different carriage before getting off at Parramatta and notifying Transport NSW.

Officers from Police Transport Command were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Inquiries reveal the man got off at Wynyard before changing trains and continuing his journey to Seven Hills.

Police would like to speak to a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man depicted is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern in appearance, aged in his 30s or 40s, of a medium build and with a beard.

He is shown wearing a red shirt, jeans and a baseball cap. He has a brown shoulder bag and is carrying three white shopping bags.
