NSW police appeal for information after boat crash in Sydney’s north

Police are investigating a crash between two boats that injured a teenage boy in Sydney’s north yesterday.

About 4pm (Sunday 19 April 2020), emergency services were called after reports of a boat collision in water north of Longnose Point, Pittwater.

Police have been told a boat carrying two men, aged 42 and 26, was travelling in a southerly direction when it crashed into another boat, which was adrift while fishing and carrying a 44-year-old man and two boys, aged 14 and 11.

Upon impact, those onboard the boats were ejected into the water.

Marine Area Command officers attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The teenager suffered lacerations to his torso and was taken onshore for treatment before being transported to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
