NSW police arrest six after stolen cars pursued from Northern Beaches to Mt Druitt

Six people have been arrested after two stolen vehicles were tracked from the Northern Beaches to Sydney’s Western Suburbs overnight.

Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command commenced following the Volkswagen Golf hatchback and a Mercedes SUV last night (Thursday 17 June 2021), but terminated the pursuit due to safety concerns.

About 11.30pm, Pol Air began monitoring the vehicles at Macquarie Park, and continued to Bella Vista, where they stopped on the corner of Norwest Boulevard and Windsor Road.

The two occupants of the SUV exited the vehicle and got into the hatchback, before driving away.

Pol Air continued monitoring the hatchback as it travelled to Windsor and Richmond, before stopping outside a home at Hebersham.

After being alerted by the PolAir crew, officers attached to Mt Druitt Police Area command attended the home a short time later and arrested four teenage boys, before they arrested another young male and a female a short distance away on Harlow Avenue.

All six were taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where five were charged,

A 15-year-old boy was charged with breach of bail, carried in conveyance (x 2) and aggravated break and enter. He was refused bail to attend a Children’s Court today (Friday 18 June 2021), where he was refused bail to reappear at the same court on Friday 25 June 2021.

A 14-year-old boy was charged with breach of bail, aggravated break and enter, take and drive and carried in conveyance. He was refused bail to attend a Children’s Court today (Friday 18 June 2021), where he was given conditional bail to reappear at the same court on Thursday 8 July 2021.

A 14-year-old boy was charged with breach of bail and take and drive. He was refused bail to attend a Children’s Court today (Friday 18 June 2021), where he was given conditional bail to reappear at the same court on Friday 30 July 2021.

A 19-year-old woman was released and will be issued a Court Attendance Notice for carried in

conveyance.

The hatchback had been reported stolen from a home at Dover Heights on Wednesday while the SUV was stolen from a home in Vaucluse on Tuesday.
