NSW police arrest three men after drugs and firearms seized in Sydney’s southwest

Three men have been arrested after firearms, illicit drugs and an amount of cash were seized during a vehicle search and two search warrants in Sydney’s southwest yesterday.

About 1pm yesterday (Thursday 28 July 2022), officers from Sydney’s Southwest Police Transport Command stopped a vehicle with three men on board on Bareena Road, Strathfield and conducted a search.

During the search, police allegedly located about 12kg of Methylamphetamine and an amount of cash. Three men, a 25-year-old, 21-year-old, and 18-year-old, were arrested and taken to Burwood Police Station.

Police later executed two search warrants at two units in Burwood and Wentworth Point.

During the search, officers seized a shotgun, a pistol, ammunition, and various illicit and prescription drugs.

All items will undergo forensic examination.

The 21-year-old man was charged with intimidation, participate in criminal group, supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity, fraud and deal in proceeds of crime.

The 25-year-old man was charged with participate in criminal group and supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity.

An 18-year-old man was charged with participate in criminal group, supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity and deal in proceeds of crime.

All three men were refused bail and will appear at Burwood Local Court today (Friday 29 July 2022).
