NSW police arrest three men over aggravated break-in’s and car theft at Bathurst

Three men have been arrested following an appeal by detectives from Chifley Police District after two aggravated break-in’s and vehicle thefts in Bathurst last night.

The first incident occurred about 5.15pm (Monday 15 June 2020), when a man entered a property on Tyndall Street, Kelso.

It’s alleged the offender assaulted an occupant of the home before stealing keys to a Mitsubishi Lancer parked outside.

Police attended and were told three men were seen leaving the scene in the Lancer.

The stolen car was observed and a pursuit commenced that was terminated shortly after for safety reasons.

The second incident occurred about 8.45pm when the stolen Lancer allegedly rammed a car on Rankin Street, Bathurst.

Officers again sighted the vehicle and a short pursuit commenced.

It was later found dumped in Ribbon Gum Place, near Stack Street, Windradyne, about 10pm.

The third incident occurred about 10.40pm, when a man allegedly took keys from a property at Billman Place, Windradyne, and stole a white Toyota Corolla parked outside.

Following inquiries and a public appeal, officers arrested three men – aged 18, 23 and 24 – about 4.30pm today (Tuesday 16 June 2020).

They were taken to Bathurst Police Station and are assisting police with their inquiries.

Police also recovered the Toyota Corolla at Moonee Valley Place, Bathurst.
