NSW police charge man after alleging exposing himself to woman

A man has been charged over an alleged sexual exposure offence in the Hunter last month.

About 7pm on Monday 4 April 2022, a 54-year-old woman was inside a home on Wilcox Avenue at Singleton Heights, when she saw a man standing at a rear door allegedly committing a sexual act.

The woman slammed the door closed and contacted police.

The man fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.

Officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District attended and commenced inquiries into the incident.

Following investigations, detectives attended a workplace in Singleton where they arrested a 21-year-old man about 1.30pm yesterday (Thursday 9 June 2022).

He was taken to Singleton Police Station and charged with carry out sexual act towards another without consent and wilful and obscene exposure near public place.

He was refused bail to appear at Singleton Local Court later today (Friday 10 June 2022).
