NSW police charge man after fatal stabbing at Woy Woy

Officers attached to Strike Force Ambyne have charged a man with murder following an investigation into an alleged fatal stabbing on the Central Coast.

About 6.15pm on Saturday (17 December 2022), emergency Services were called to Macarthur Street at Woy Woy, where they found a 41-year-old man unconscious in the street with multiple stab wounds.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District commenced CPR until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, the man died at the scene.

He has since been formally identified as Nathan Strudwick.

Detectives commenced an investigation into the incident under Strike Force Ambyne.

Following inquiries, officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended a hotel in Toongabbie about 3.30am yesterday (Wednesday 21 December 2022) and commenced a search of the area.

A short time later officers located and arrested a 46-year-old man in Aurelia Street.

He was taken to Blacktown Hospital, before he was taken to Granville Police Station where he was charged with murder and aggravated robbery and inflict actual bodily harm.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 22 December 2022).
