NSW police charge man after investigation into a break and enter

A man has been charged following an investigation into an alleged break and enter in the state’s Central West last week.

About 10.55pm on Friday (13 November 2020), three men entered a service station on Elsham Avenue, Orange.

It is alleged the men stole cigarettes and cash before fleeing the location.

Officers attached to Central West Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, about 11.20am on Tuesday (17 November 2020), officers executed a search warrant at a home on Amaroo Crescent, Orange.

During the search, officers located and seized cannabis, clothing and cigarettes.

A 23-year-old man made threats to an officer before he was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal, possess prohibited drug, assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm and intimidate police officer in execution of duty.

The man was given conditional bail to appear at Orange Local Court on Monday 23 November 2020.

Two unknown offenders remain outstanding as inquiries continue into their whereabouts.
