NSW police charge man after urinating on Anzac Memorial

A man has been charged after allegedly urinating on the Anzac Memorial in Sydney’s CBD overnight.

Just after midnight (Sunday 6 February 2022), police will allege a man was walking though Hyde Park when he approached the south-eastern side of the Anzac Memorial and began to urinate on the building.

Security officers detained the man and officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and arrested the 25-year-old.

He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with commit offensive etc act in, on war memorial/interment site.

The Randwick man was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 24 February 2022.
