NSW police charge man in connection to 2018 Bankstown shooting murder

Another man has been arrested in connection to the shooting of Ho Le Dinh at Bankstown last year.

Just after 3.35pm on Tuesday 23 January 2018, 65-year-old local solicitor, Ho Le Dinh, was shot while sitting at a cafe at Bankstown City Plaza.

Despite the efforts of police, NSW Ambulance Paramedics, and members of the community, Mr Ho died at the scene.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, and Bankstown detectives, established Strike Force Eugene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

A 38-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were charged in February and March 2018. They remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, Strike Force Eugene investigators, with assistance from Strike Force Raptor, arrested a 34-year-old man at a home in Leppington, about 7am today (Thursday 30 May 2019).

Strike force investigators also conducted a Firearms Prohibition Order at the home, where they located and seized an electronic stun device.

The man was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with murder and use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Thursday 30 May 2019).
