NSW police charge man over break and enters at Bega

A man has been charged following an investigation into a series of break and enters on the South Coast earlier this week.

About 11.45pm on Monday 9 November 2020, a post office window was smashed in Bega and a number of items stolen.

The incident was reported to police and officers from South Coast Police District commenced inquiries.

Two additional break and enters were reported to police at businesses in the Bega CBD.

About 1.45am today (Wednesday 11 November 2020), police were called to a liquor store on Auckland Street, Bega, following reports a window had been smashed.

Police attended and located a 32-year-old man hiding behind a wall.

The man was arrested and taken to Bega Police Station, where he was charged with break, enter and steal, and three counts of break and enter.

Police will allege the man committed and attempted to commit numerous break and enters in the Bega CBD over a three-day period.

He was refused bail to appear in Bega Local Court today (Wednesday 11 November 2020).
