NSW police charge man over break and enters

Police have arrested a man over two alleged break and enters in the state’s south.

About 1am yesterday (Monday 10 May 2021), police allege two people broke into a detached garage on Cliff Avenue, Barrack Point, and allegedly attempted to steal a motorcycle.

An hour later, it will be alleged they returned and again attempted to take the motorcycle, but were disturbed by the homeowner and fled the scene.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home in Blackbutt this morning (Tuesday 11 May 2021) and arrested a 19-year-old man.

He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter with intent to steal.

The Blackbutt man was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 30 June 2021.
